COMPOSITE RESIN FILLINGS
Dental fillings are used to improve the health of teeth that have been compromised by decay, cracks, or chips. A major improvement from silver amalgam fillings, composite resin fillings can closely match the color of your existing teeth.
Once a tooth has been filled, the majority of patients experience no further issues. Some patients, however, feel sensitivity after a dental filling to such things as cold air, sweet foods, or pressure. If this does occur, it is typically short term.
CROWN AND BRIDGE
When a tooth has decayed and there is little natural tooth structure left to hold a filling, a crown is required to prevent your tooth from breaking. Over time our teeth begin to weaken and become more susceptible to problems such as decay, cracks, discoloration and others. Crowns are used to protect weak teeth, to protect cracked teeth, to restore discolored or broken teeth, and to prevent root canal treated teeth from fracture. In cases like this a filling or bonding will not be sufficient.
Dental bridges are a great way to replace missing teeth. Your existing teeth are used to literally create a bridge to cross the area where your tooth is missing. Bridges are made from gold, metal, alloys, or porcelain to ensure that they are strong and durable.
If you feel your smile isn’t what it once was, crowns can help you recover your smile.
